Italianette Church

I do like to take photos of this handsome 'Italianette' style local church, but this is the first to get Blipped.

Torrential rain and thunderstorms forecast for later in the night, but I wanted to make use of the shiny wet foreground steps from the lighter rain just come in.

Wanted it to be architecturally as good as possible, so camera kept level, in order the Church did not lean over backwards. I chose the corner-on viewpoint as to get the whole of the front, from the front, means this very wideangle and much tilting up. The angular steps also act as a lead-in to the image and we get a nice side view of the Church too.

Here it is floodlit but a good, solid black and white was the only way to go.

Lens is Nikkor 10-24mm

Salisbury International Arts Festival starts Friday, though I haven't booked or even looked at the brochure. These events are priced well beyond what the unemployed can/cannot afford. However, there are a few free bits, such as the opening on Saturday and some bits of street performing. I definitely will be snapping what I can and naturally, will share the best bits as Blips, with you.
