Sunshine and Sea
We had an early start to drive to the port to buy tickets for the boat taxi along the coast. It was warm and sunny as we bounced along in the boat to Cala Tuente, where they dropped us off for our walk. The other passengers were continuing to a pretty beach where they'd have a relaxing lunch before getting the boat back. However we had 6 hours of rough walking ahead of us, firstly up and down a beautiful cliff path, (the blip - spoiled for choice) before reaching a col where we left the sea behind and had a welcome break. After that it was steeply down to the valley floor where we found a lovely farmhouse selling freshly squeezed orange juice. Then another stiff climb up to another col before descending to a mirador cafe where we expected a very welcome cold beer, forgetting it is Monday so the place was closed. Disappointed! From there, after 15 km and 2000 ft of ascent on rough ground, we called a taxi to get us back to the port, as we were an hour too early for the bus. We got our cold beer there - and it was a large one.
