As my twin nieces painstakingly picked the candle wax drippings off my cake one of them grumbled to the other 'god, I wish she wasn't so old'.

And then quickly redeemed herself by answering her twins question of 'how old is aunty Alice?' by saying 'she's 42 but she doesn't look it'.
