It rained purple

My oh my did it ever.

I saw Prince live on his Diamonds & Pearls tour many years ago and was fairly disappointed with the show, his self-indulgence and arrogance and lack of acknowledgement of his audience. Plus he was just too small to see from the back of Earls Court (with a pillar in front of me).

I remained a fan of his music despite this.

Tonight I was blown away by the show, his extraordinary talent, his great generosity and respect for the audience and the fact that I was lucky enough to be there. I could see him well and he was larger than life.

A really good gig is one that you walk away from thinking 'I was just a part of something truly amazing'.

It also kicked off three nights of birthday celebrations nicely.
