Fawley Hill

Very warm day here today.

We went to Fawley Hill Steam and Vintage Rally hosted by Lord and Lady McAlpine to celebrate Lady McAlpines 70th Birthday.

This full sized steam train is in their 'garden' and chugs up and down what is, apparently, the steepest rail gradient in the world. To hear the power as it pulls up this hill gives me goosebumps!!

The Rally field was full of Steam Engines, Rollers, Showman's Engines not to mention all the Vintage Vehicles, Camels (yes camels), fair ground rides, stalls, stationary engines, model tent, beer tent, food tent and the beautiful heavy horses.

A lovely day out, thank you Gerald and Mary for taking me, and it is a charity event so with the lovely weather bringing everyone out I hope they made lots of money!
