One winged wasp?

Part of my Saturday ritual is to visit my elderly blind relative, take her some shopping and sort out her correspondence. Today involved also planting out some seedlings.

At the back of her garden is a magnificent rhododendron which she and her late husband bought at Crarae Gardens many years ago. It has thrived since then and was obviously attractive to this wasp.

Other shots show two wings but when this one was taken it must the right one must have been on an upbeat and alongside the left.

While wasp are among my least favourite creatures the markings are stunning.
