Sporty Bit 1 . . . 50 And Counting . . .
This shows a Chris Boardman Racing Bicycle. Chris Boardman MBE lives in the Hoylake, UK. He gained his first Olympic Gold in Barcelona at the 1992 games. Since then he has been successful in many races, including the Tour de France.

Well, in just 50 days from now, the Grand Depart will be taking place in Yorkshire, as the Tour de France 2014 gets underway. The excitement is building in God’s Own County and a warm welcome will be extended to all.

Sporty Bit 2 . . . Today is THE FA Cup Final at WemBOROley, London UK. This is the best traditional Cup Competition in the World. I am a traditionalist – so I have not watched a Final in 7 years. TV dictates the Final starts at 5PM and not the traditional 3PM. I cannot abide changes such as a player who wears a blue boot on one foot and a red boot on the another – let alone a pink football ! Sponsorship of Soccer has gone too far. Groan over !

If I lived in London I would be a Gooner – an Arsenal supporter. A team full of high class stars who have underachieved in recent years. Today they played Hull City – a Yorkshire team of journeymen footballers. I regularly communicate with Blippers from both camps. After some deliberation I naturally have to go with . . . Yorkshire !

The story of the Final – after 4 minutes Hull score to go 1-0 up. After 8 minutes, Hull go 2-0 up. After 17 minutes Arsenal score to make it 2-1. We reach the midway point.
In the second half . . . after 71 minutes Arsenal score to make it 2-2. The final whistle goes and we are into 30 minutes of extra time.
108 minutes . . . Arsenal score to make it 3-2. Game over – and huge congratulations to both sides for making such a grand FA Cup Final.

Sporty Bit 3 . . . Where did Hull begin their FA Cup trail – by beating My Boro at the Riverside !
