Dudhope castle
I had a meeting here today, in the Hall (bottom right), and as I've never been there before I thought I'd blip it. (Unfortunately I haven't quite worked out how to persuade the wee camera to focus on what I actually want so the castle isn't quite sharp, I'll go back another day with the other camera).
The castle was originally built in the 13th century and has had various extensions and alterations since. At one point it was owned by John Graham of Claverhouse (who also probably owned the ground our house is built on) who was (in)famous and known as Bonnie Dundee who was killed at the battle of Killiecrankie in 1689.
Later it was used as a military barracks and in 1958 was nearly demolished. Now it has been restored and refurbished and houses council offices and the meeting room.
This afternoon I got more gardening done and even managed to sit and enjoy the warm sun for a while.
