The City
A beautiful first day of the year and there was Sunny Day Anxiety. Fred thought about a walk along the Brighton seafront, but no trains were running due to bad weather. Scunnered, we looked closer to home and walked up through West Norwood to Crystal Palace Park via Norwood Park, where there are fantastic views over the City of London. It always amazes me that a cafe hasn't taken up prime location at the top of the hill - it's a great place to sit back and gaze at the view. There are quite a few new skyscrapers in development - the 43-storey residential Strata Tower (largest in view on the left) and Heron Tower (which will be the tallest building in the City of London) to the left of the Gherkin are the most noticeable in this blip.
We did a lot of talking - lots of emotions to work through. At home, we let the guinea pigs roam around and Whisky monitored them from a cushion beside the piano. I put in some much-needed practice and has a lot of fun, with only a small amount of cursing.
