Another Day

Wild flowers

I've been out supporting friends this morning. One is recovering from cancer treatment and the other has just found out her daughter has cancer. Difficult times for them.

Excitement at home. When JJ put up the tit box he also put a terrace of three sparrow box under the guttering about six feet away and this morning I spotted a robin sitting on the fence underneath it. Its beak was full of squiggly things and it eventually headed up and on to the top of the sparrow box where there is a very untidy looking clump of leaves.

So now I have two nests to watch from my playroom, plus the wren is still feeding babies in the nest behind the ivy in the back garden, but I suspect they will depart any day now. The blue tits should be off whilst we are away next week, but the robins should still be feeding.

Photograph-wise I'm feeling a bit stale at the moment, so just nipped up the road to snap these two. The plantain is a get one free photo as it has the added pleasure of cuckoo spit.

Enjoy your weekend.
