The University Pitt Club.

Founded as a Gentlemen's club in 1835, the Pitt Club was named after William Pitt who had studied at Pembroke College. The building at 7A Jesus Lane was originally designed as Victorian Roman Baths by Sir Matthew Digby Wyatt, but the venture failed and the Pitt Club moved in. It remains a boys club and ladies cannot join, which explains the lack of ladies toilet facilities when ladies are allowed to enter occasionally for parties. At one time, members had to be educated in certain elite schools, but this rule no longer stands. Neither do the initiation ceremonies and membership lasts for life. These days the club rooms are on the top floor, above the 'Hidden Rooms' (I think it's another club) and Pizza Express ! Some notable members included Edward VII, George V, Duke of Clarence, the Cambridge Spies Guy Burgess and Anthony Blunt, and Baron Bilimoria, founder of Cobra Beer. Well, it makes sense to let him in doesn't it !
