So near and yet...

This is a view of one of the Farne Islands, taken from the beach at Seahouses.
The Farne Islands are known mainly for two things: a daring rescue of shipwrecked survivors by the lighthouse keeper and his daughter Grace Darling ( see http://www.gracedarling.co.uk for a full account) and the wildlife, particularly nesting seabirds such as puffins and guillemot.
Alas, despite a calmish sea and a choice of boat trips to and round the Islands, my motion sickness prevents me from getting any closer.
