Happy New Year!
Bonne Année - Blwyddyn Newydd Dda - Bona Annada!
We usually eat lunch in the garden on New Year's Day, but it rained in the night and was still cloudy this morning, so it would have been cold and damp. Instead, we ate at home: local goats' cheese with artichoke hearts, guinea fowl stuffed with our own olives and served with roast pumpkin, followed by Pyrennean goats' cheese which we bought in the market at Aigues-Mortes from the people who made it. We ended our New Year's Day lunch with this reminder of summer - watermelon granita with a glass of Cartagène.
