Ode to Cake

Oh Cake, you are so special
You really are a chum
For when I've had a shitty day,
You kiss it gently all away
From my throat down to my tum

Oh Cake, you are a honey
So moist and welcoming
You never sulk or throw a strop,
Even when I've been a troll-op
You entice me back with sticky crumb
And a hint of cardamom

Oh Cake, lets talk no more of Merlot!
Or Prosecco or Champagne
Goodbye wild parties and woozy next-day pain
We'll put them far behind us
And together we'll start again
