Red camera day.
I had to use my little red camera today as I sent my other one in for repair last Thursday completely forgetting that today was my 1500th blip.
We set off to RHS Harlow Carr in Harrogate with a really bad forecast, so we were laden with brollies and raincoats. It not only stayed fine but was really warm. Totally overdressed.
Most of the tulips were a bit over but there were lots of other things of interest not least the additions since our last visit in April of some new willow hares on bicycles in front of the alpine house.
Could this be something to do with Le Grand Depart descending on Harrogate and the rest of Yorkshire in July? One of the hares has already lost a wheel in his exuberance raising his arms as he crosses the finishing line ( or in exasperation as he lost a wheel?) the third pen is definitely celebrating as he is standing on his head on the handlebars!
In the office next to the garden shop there was some familiar Tour de France T shirt bunting which you will recognise if you follow Wendles56 journal.as she has been making some.
Finally in amongst the fancies in Betty's were these iced Bicycle biscuits that WilsdenWalker featured earlier this week. We had lunch here as usual and after our walk around the garden we went back for tea and Yorkshire Tea Bread.
A good day out and a very appropriate one to celebrate 1500 consecutive blips. I have featured shots of Harlow Carr at regular intervals throughout this period ( approximately once a month in all seasons); lovely flowers, quirky sculptures and even a friendly Robin to photograph. If it's really wet you can always photograph Betty's fancies or just eat them!
