Cups

This is a photo of Ciara and I playing the game Cups and we are playing along to Anna Kendrick's single version she released after the movie Pitch Perfect, which we both love.
As you can tell we haven't done much all morning and I was only out of my PJs because we had a man round to see the contents of our house to give us a quote for moving back to the UK. I was glad Ciara still stayed in her cosy jammies for our day off together. Luke treated us both to a bacon sandwich after the man left and we ate as we watched Big Bang Theory and talked about the finale of the series How I Met Your Mother.
After a while we were remembering old tv shows we watched as kids and calling out our favourites, before long we were Googling them and playing the theme tunes and opening credits on youtube! Amongst others we remembered the Animals of Farthing wood, Oakey Doke, Penny Crayon, Recess, Rosie & Jim, Tots tv, Super Ted, Sharkey and George, Family Ness, Trumpton, Bump, Barbar, Hey Arnold, Round the Twist, Queen's Nose and Arthur. There were so many we thought of, shows we hadn't watched in years, and we laughed a lot when we suddenly remembered another one.

In the afternoon Luke bought us some bits for lunch and we ate southern fried style chicken with coleslaw, olives, cucumber and Doritos whist Ciara and I watched Little Mermaid as she had never seen it before. We enjoyed singing along to the songs and I am happy to have shared this movie with her, still don't know how she managed to get through her childhood without seeing it!

In the evening Ciara headed home and I settled down to watch the Eurovision Song Contest. It is the highlight of the tv year for both myself and my sister so we were texting each other throughout comparing the acts. It was hugely entertaining and I loved so many of the songs. The winning act reminded me of a James Bond opening song and was sung by a drag queen called Conchita. It was a great show and a fun day and I have already said to Luke that we should look into going to Austria in 2015 for the next show!

Today I am grateful to have spent the day off with Ciara after working hard this week in preparation for our big visit. I am also happy I got to share Eurovision with Jenny, even if we are in different countries and miles apart.
