Portmeirion

I have wanted to visit the eccentric village of Portmeirion for almost 50 years, since regularly watching the surreal 1960s TV series “The Prisoner,” which was filmed there. It was designed by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis (no relation) and built from 1925. It is now almost entirely run as a hotel and collection of holiday cottages for rent.

Despite heavy rain, I spent a very happy three hours taking hundreds of photos, including some memorable scenes from the TV series, some of the wonderful detail of the buildings, views of the estuary and unusually cooperative wildlife..

Then, in other news, my second favourite football team who play in sky blue won the Premier League.
