Kip And J.B.

I met my blip buddy MaryJo at Big Rock Garden this morning so I could introduce her to Boris the spider and his web that I blipped yesterday. She was a real trouper because she hates spiders in any form so I thought it was very nice of her to even get within camera range of Boris. We went down to Scudder’s Pond looking for anything – birds, beavers, ducks – anything. It was pretty quiet but we did see a mama Mallard and a baby trolling through the reeds.

After that I spent the rest of the day driving all over the county in search of a particular plant (I found it). I actually had a great time zig-zagging from garden center to farm to nursery. It looked like it was going to rain but never got around to it. I thought it was a beautiful day.

The last farm center I stopped at was having an open house and that’s where I met Kip and J.B. That's Kip on the right and J.B. on the left. They’re Percherons, a breed of draft horse that originated in France. They were giving rides to people in a wagon. I was pretty impressed with their harnesses. I would think that getting them all “dressed” would take someone with a lot of talent. It looked very complicated to me.
