The Bellet Distillery is located in the heart of Brive. Founded in 1922 it is one of the last independent liquoristeries.
Producing liqueurs from mountain herbs (thyme, hyssop)and and plants (gentian and chestnuts) I first discovered Guignolet in the books and then managed to find a bottle in Clermont L'herault when in the Languedoc a couple of Christmases ago.

Mum and sister A are on their way to the Languedoc and will be arriving in time for cherry season and perhaps a celebratory sip of Guignolet.

Absolutely delicious and extra special as a slurp with some bubbles!
