Winter in The Glen

After too long we headed back up to The Glen for the rest of the holidays through a snow filled landscape - just beautiful.

Although John had been up to check the house and pump up the heating, it was still the coldest we've ever experienced. The hot water isn't working, we think it might be a bit frozen although not enough to cause any leaks. We've put on a small fire in the stove to try and gently thaw things out, so fingers crossed.

The internet was down so we had to re-configure the system, so that took an hour or so and then the second stove started smoking while we were trying to sort out the first one. So it's not been the most relaxing start to the holidays.

Three hours later.

The stoves are pumping out the heat, we've just had risotto and a glass of wine and the hot water bottles are in the bed.

Things are beginning to look up.
