Airside

Some will know that I live very close to the airport and on a walk today I noticed that in the last few days these landing lights have come down. I initially thought it might be intentional but no, the fence is damaged and the actual lights are smashed. Another victim of the weather perhaps?

The other far more exciting news from the airport concerns a standing stone on the 'other side' of the fence. I've seen this stone for years and have often wondered what it was like close-up. Some research online shows it to be from pre-Christian times and is believed to mark the spot of burial cists. Well after many weeks of liaising with the airport I have managed to schedule a visit to the site on 8th January. This assuming I satisfy them of my intentions during all the security checks. No prizes for guessing what my Blip will be that day.
