A showery day . . .

. . . so we didn’t plan on going far. Then at 4pm it suddenly turned sunny. We set off for the Coral Beaches, near Dunvegan Castle. A gorgeous afternoon/evening – the light was perfect. A lovely walk along the shoreline. We didn’t this time quite get to the Coral beaches themselves (the semi-finals of Masterchef called!) but -

- if you want to see:

• a picture postcard of Dunvegan Castle – look here.
• a picture postcard of the Macleod Tables – look here
• a seal – look here.
• a Mistle Thrush (we think) with a beakful of something – look here
• that we weren’t the only ones trying to sight seals – look here.

But I’m actually blipping our house on Skye. Not quite as isolated as it might seem, but a lovely peaceful place that we have loved. We leave tomorrow for North Uist. (The blue thing is an old boat that seems to be just there! I don't think we are supposed to try to use it!)

Thank you so much for the fantastic response to yesterday’s blip. I was surprised and gratified by the number of comments, stars and favourites that the blip received. I had thought it out very carefully, trying to combine the lovely revisited walk with the sad history of the place, and I really appreciate how everyone responded to that.
