The Long Road
This ladybird wandered up and down leaves for an hour. I know because I watched him.... Better things to do but sometimes it's good to just sit and watch life as it unfurls its mysteries.
My mind today was taken with two motorcycle deaths. The first was a funeral for Noel "Smurf" Murphy who was buried today after his unfortunate death on Saturday's last roadracing at the Tandragee 100 in Northern Ireland. He comes from the same small village three miles from my own where the late Martin Finnegan, another racer, was born. Martin was buried six years ago yesterday after a fatal crash at the same event.
Today in Donegal a sixty nine year old motorcyclist was killed stewarding a cycling race for Cycle Against Suicide......
What pulled it all together for me was the following statement......
“Our thoughts and prayers are with our dear friend and his family at this incredibly difficult time,” said Jim Breen, founder of Cycle Against Suicide. “Our hearts are simply broken.”.............
and the power of that simple, unfettered statement says it all.......just saying
