This is my Mum

A busy day today, with all sorts of house-related comings and goings, and as the weather forecast seemed to indicate that the best part of the day would be early, I got up at 6 and went for a little drive. Lots of wildlife around, including Buzzard, Lapwings, Curlew, Snipe Kestrel, Linnets, Song Thrushes and a Brown Hare. I got a couple of images I was quite pleased with, of lambs and lapwings, but I liked the one of what was clearly a very young foal with his mum, backlit in the early morning sunshine. Quite a large herd of these horses live on rough pasture. Not sure what their role is - they are clearly not thoroughbreds, but seem perfectly contented roaming free on a lovely and quiet psature.
