Dunbar Harbour Panorama
After my swim this morning I had three quarters of an hour to kill before meeting my wife for coffee and decided to find a quick blip. I walked to the edge of the swimming pool car park looking down on Dunbar harbour. Although the skies were grey I wondered if a panoramic view of the harbour and ruined castle would be an option. I used in the camera panoramic menu on my compact and was surprised that I got a reasonable shot first time as I always tend to vere between moving too slowly or too fast. I think the panoramic function works much better if there is plenty of detail in the scene. It copes less well with landscape shots where there is more continuity. I also drove out to the bluebell woods at Brunt and took a few shots there but the bluebells are not fully in bloom there yet. As there was rather a lot of grey, (sea & sky ) in my panoramas I decided to liven them up with a monochrome treatment with my favourite copper toning.
Worth seeing LARGE to appreciate the detail
