I can fly higher than an Eagle.....
I have absolutely no sense of direction over here.
I do know that I can point my arm in the direction of Arran - I always know where Arran is, and I sleep body parallel, (as best I can) to it.
We had a long drive today. Boy had interview in Charlottesville. 190 miles away. That is like driving from home to Manchester. To save Himself having a fit first thing in the morning, I took the drive there. Boy directed me. (Not).
The problem with the roads here, is that they are so long, and so straight, and so much to see at the side of the roads. My current favourite is the banks of wild flowers blooming at points, my other favourite is the eagles, (Or something that looks like eagles).
We drove, and drove, and drove, and drove, and drove. For the last 20 minutes I slept, while I drove. We found the office, and Boy went in and I sat in the shade on the grass along with the fire ants, and watched eight "eagles", soar around on the thermals, it was hypnotic.
Boy left interview shortly - and we headed for Food. Why must we EAT So much in America?
Then we went to a Camping Shop. We felt we had to treat Himself for all the slagging he has been getting from us. Wow.... this shop was amazing... halls and halls of fishing rods, guns, machettes, pistols, blow up fish? real fish, a shooting game... and a shop worker who was descended from the King Of Ireland. (Apparently) I gave him and his co-worker the Braveheart speech, because they knew that was set in SCOTLAND.
We had a ball. Then we walked three miles around the Mall which opened up at the back of the Camping shop. The six levels of Mall brought us back to the Camping Shop, and then we found the BOAT hall. Yes, Boats. They had actual BOATS in the shop, and it was such a big shop, we missed them the first time through. Pah ha ha ha I'm not talking Canoe, or Kayak... I'm talking 30 ft Speed boat, with decking and tow boat; and that was one of the smaller ones.
Then we had a look at used cars. ha ha ha ha ha That was highly entertaining too.
Then we got back to the hotel; and the BOYS WANTED TO EAT AGAIN.
We went back and seen Miriam again, she was delighted to see us; sad that the girls weren't with us, but I gave her the Braveheart speech and that entertained her enough.
Oh my god. I have had so much food.
And juice. I really, really, really, need colonic irrigation session and a proper cup of tea!
Tooli made it home safe and sound. Unlike her unsuccessful journey from Edinburgh to Ayrshire, via Lockerbie, she did in fact make it back to Scotland without any unscheduled stops. Which is a shame, because I was looking forward to a trip to Japan to collect her :-) Thank you Gran for collecting her, feeding her, and letting her stay over.
