Whistle and I'll come tae ye...

... in Aberdeen for a special VIP screening of a short film called Whistle My Lad written and produced by an old friend of mine, Richard Burke.

The screening was attended by First Minister, Alex Salmond, and his wife Moira. He knows this area well as it is part of his constituency.

Richard is married to my pal Dorothy, who was one of the first friends I made when I went to Aberdeen University in 1982.

Whistle My Lad was filmed in Crovie (provinces Crivie) a cliff top fishing village in the north east of Scotland.

Here's a good story about Richard and the story behind the film, which is premiering at Cannes next week, on STV Aberdeen:

The story of Whistle My Lad

Very proud of both Richard and Dorothy. The film has high production values and an amazing original soundtrack recorded especially for it by the RSNO.

I was all set to get a pic of R & D and the First Minister. But I was gabbing so much to old pals, Dave and Gail, who I hadn't seen for nearly 20 years, I missed them as they went into another special screening.
