Glen Feshie

Bank Holiday Monday again, time for another Highland jaunt up the A9.

Parking at the end of Glen Feshie, I cycled into the southerly wind up the excellent private road on the west side to dump the bike at Lochan an t-Sluic. This loch is hidden in a deep slot (The Slochd Mor) between the hills, an unusual landform, no doubt a glacial outflow.

With new found fitness (ahem) from last weekend's Highlander Mountain Marathon, I ran and plodded over three Corbetts: Leathad an Taobhain (912m), Meallach Mhor (769m) and Carn Dearg Mor (857m). Back to the bike after 22km and 4hours for a wild descent of the glen road, back to the car.

I passed these garrion horses trying to shelter from the southerly gale blowing down the glen.
