Colour contrast
I love the way that the green new growth on Pittosporum 'Tom Thumb' stands out against the deep purple of the mature foliage. This slightly tender shrub is described in Hillier's Manual as 'dwarf', but ours must be 6x6ft at least and still going strong, a good, tight-growing rounded shrub. I moved it when it was about 2x2ft and it's now outgrowing its new position!
I have a green form tentatively named 'Green Thumb' which appears not to be in the trade. This also makes a rounded bush.
