The House of Spirits
Today at DandiFest we had a glass painting workshop where participants turned glass jars into lanterns to decorate St Margaret's for an evening of poetry and live performance art. Here are some of the beautiful creations.
Another beautiful creation was a poem written by Trudy Howson, who has collaborated with Dandy Vince on several occasions and tonight she, Vince and Dandy Dugald performed a number of poems for three voices. The House of Spirits has been written by Trudy specially for this evening. I invite you to read it now and only wish that you could have heard it being performed in the magical space that is St Margaret's Church of Art:
This is a poem about you.
Sitting, here and now ....
Unseen.
This is a poem, about recharging.
Letting go of the aggravation ....
Of the day to day.
Relax in the dark stillness.
Feel the rhythm of air and water ...
You are awash in it.
Now is about taking time.
To let go of some of the pain ...
And sorrow
Having space to reconnect.
To the beauty and tenacity ...
Of your spirit
Here in this House of Spirits
You can reflect and remember ...
Who and what you are
Ending unending. Ending unending. Ending unending.
