Diary of an Edinburgher

A new toy...

Spent most of my day working on my book… that sounds better than it is - just a photo book. I awaited a delivery (play pen for Millie - and toys, actually) which did not come…

I looked around in the afternoon to see the lovely sunshine in the back garden. Rushed out to dry the wet and abandoned outdoor furniture, and met the new neighbour, Andy. And the puss, Tinkerbelle.

Tinkerbelle has always been an indoor cat, but she’s showing an interest in exploring the back garden - scuttling back to her house when alarmed. We have seen her a few times, and now she will come for a brief pat. In fact, she very carefully tiptoed into our kitchen for an explore. After a wee while, she came dashing out and rushed home, ears back. I think she might have seen the puppy crate sitting there, ominously. I’m sure Millie and Tinkerbelle will be pals. Certainly Andy’s daughter (aged 12) is excited at the prospect of a puppy nearby (so he says - haven’t met her yet).

Well, it’s been looming for a while, and today, after a couple of clicks (just TOO easy) I bought a new iPad Air, and JR can have my fairly new one. The wails and harumphs when things crash every evening have taken their toll. And I can pick it up tomorrow at Waitrose! I don’t even need to go to the shop - how good is that!

So this is the sunshine in the back of the house. We’ve been outside using the outdoor furniture. It’s SO warm. Four (small) gins later (each), we’re even having tea/dinner/supper outside. Roll on summer! Millie is going to love it here.

Moroccan chicken and apricot tagine for tea. Just as well it's Waitrose...
