Gas Works Park & Lake Union

Very warm day today in Seattle and forecast for even hotter weather tomorrow. After dinner this evening headed over to Gas Works Park for a walk and a chance to catch the blip of the day. The park was crowded with people flying kites, taking walks, and just sitting on the grass with a few folks barbecuing.

Gas works was a working plant that illuminated the city and surrounding towns for fifty years. It was in operation from 1906 to 1956. More can be read about the history here.

Great that the weather has gotten warmer and perhaps we can have it continue for the next 4 0r 5 months!
