American Robin

Until blipfoto I did not know that the European robins are very different than the American robins. According to Wikipedia they are not even of the same family. Seeing my first robin of the year is always a sign of spring. They seem like a happy bird to me, with their lively songs in the morning. It is fun to watch them jumping around the yard looking for worms. You can see this one has a bit of a dirty beak, having just finished off a worm!
