Not all Alliums are pink

This is Allium Cowanii. I must confess I had to look up the name since I had forgotten, but since my grandmother's name was Cowan, I should now remember! I wonder if one of my ancestors was the one who discovered this plant?

It's only about 30cm high, and really sparkles next to the the new emerging foliage of Euphorbia Excalibur with its dark wine edges, and Heuchera Obsidan in the middle distance.

Hubby Vintagecamera and I just spent 2 hours working in the garden, and now have thunder and lightening and torrential rain.......... the sort that comes down so heavy it misses the guttering! Put a couple of new plants in this morning, so at least I wont need to bother getting the watering can out.
