Dear Co -op pie taster,

As a conniosseur of pork pies, I write to express my dismay.

Yesterday I purchased a pack of two snack pork pies from one of your stores.

The wrapper clearly states that they are: 'Crispy Bake' and 'Lightly seasoned'
This, I would humbly suggest, is not a true description of your product.

The outer pastry is distinctly stodgy and overly thick, lacking any flavour. The cured pork (26%) filling is highly peppered. The overall taste is very disappointing.

The weight of the filling at 17 gm seems very low compared to the 53 gm of pastry.

May I suggest you taste the product and draw your own conclusion.

The second of the snack pies is, I fear, going the same way as the Co -Operative banking -

DOWN THE PAN.
