And I'll be Holding on To You
For four years, I have watched my son's life over the internet and skype phone calls.
I've looked at the videos, sat up late and night and watched the matches.
I've got to know his friends through pictures and comments posted on Facebook.
I've looked at his little town through web cams, Pickle Festival photos, and that one year at New Year when they "Dropped the Pickle" at 7pm their time, and 12 midnight our time to have a Family New Year - and Boy and his S won a box of Pickles for being the farthest travelled.
Tomorrow, I get to see it all. I see the campus, with the hammocks, and the gazebo. The apartments where S photographed him doing the walk of Shame in his Super Hero Outfit. The class rooms (where I've seen photographs of him asleep), the games hall where we have sat up late nights and watched him play. And the funny little town, with the railway line running straight up the middle of the high street!
And I'm so bloody excited I've had to take a diazepam to calm down!
