The Chapel
The broadband engineer is coming tomorrow, but I have work that needs internet today. So, I went and camped out at Bill's chapel, over the hill, on the edge of Dolphinton.
He's finishing off the conservatory. He's good at finishing things. If you enjoy something, and you're good at it, then why hurry?
When it came time to leave, I found that my car had thrown its fan belt. It's undrivable without power steering, so we spent an oily twenty minutes fetching tools and slackening nuts.
I'd been telling Bill how I leave mechanics to others these days. Serves me right that the universe has other ideas.
