Oh No It's Raining Again

I've always said I'm not bothered by a bit of rain, so LooseCanon has brought me up to the wettest part of the country( official) the Borrowdale valley for a celebratory birthday weekend.

We went for a quick walk around the top end of Derwentwater, as we are staying in Grange. It was fine until L/ C fell over in the mud at the edge of the lake. I was laughing so much I missed the bliportunity of him desperately holding his tripod in the air while trying to get back on his feet. He looked like a stranded beetle with one leg missing.

Then he kept saying what fantastic subtle light it was. I couldn't understand this as I just thought it was rather , well, dull and grey. It turned out that in the fall he must have lost his glasses and reached into his pocket and put his sunglasses on by mistake. No wonder the light was 'subtle'. So he has muddy smelly trousers, muddy smelly shoes, no proper glasses, and he says his pictures are all blurred, though I don't know whether they really are, or it's just because he can't see properly.

I think this is Derwentwater with a storm coming in from the direction of Sharp Edge, it's hard to tell as the light is a bit, er, subtle.

It's all going terribly well so far.

Forgot to say, on the bright side, we heard a cuckoo!!
