A Retreat to Villa de Leiva

As this week is Semana Santa (Holy Week), there are no kids in school so we decided to take a couple of days to rest and recover from our really busy weeks so far. Some friends of Abi's have a finca (a small farm) about 4 hours from Bogotá near Villa de Leiva, and offered it to us for 2 nights this week. We got a 7am bus from Bogotá and headed out into the countryside. Villa de Leiva is a beautiful colonial town and we enjoyed an afternoon wandering around looking at the pretty buildings and the many craft shops that line the streets (the rain didn't put us off too much!) The finca was such a beautiful place with lovely views, and we were really able to relax.
