Easter Monday York Collage.
I was awakened by the cry of Arthur at 7am imploring me for an early breakfast. This was served as soon as I got up and he was contented after that. Tiffany slept on for a while before sitting by the bowl for his food.
Getting up quite early for a Bank Holiday, is an advantage, as it gave me a head start on all the small tasks of housework, which meant more free time later in the day to blip, read, walk, knit, write and chat to friends etc.
Maria got up some hours later, and having packed the night before, was more or less ready for the return journey to York.
Term starts again tomorrow.
The journey was trouble free, with only a short hold up at Harrogate.
We enjoyed a lovely wander in the city, visiting the gorgeous Cath Kidston shop and the outdoor market, where there was a very impressive Chocolate Festival. We sampled a small piece of Vegan chocolate which was scrumptious.
We also went to Hotel Chocolat, and Paul kindly got us some dark chocolate cherries in kirsch.
Very indulgent!.
We had lunch at Molly's, a small well run place set in the upper room of a antique/vintage shop.
I love York and enjoy these opportunities to visit the city.
The blip today, is a series of snap shots showing some of the places we visited.
The weather was really nice, the sun very warm and only light rain as we were setting off home.
Today is the Queen's 88th birthday, so Happy Birthday Your Majesty.
It has been a very memorable Easter Monday and Paul coped well with the 4 hours driving to York and back. Thanks everyone who wished him a speedy recovery.
He will be sitting down to put his socks on, to avoid any strain to his back.
Good wishes to all my blipper friends.
