A Favourite Tree

I pass it on the way to our little post office and have photographed it in all seasons. There's something about the spread of its branches that I find fascinating. It is on the edge of a field that is supposed to be used for school sports, but we've never seen anybody on it, apart from a lone walker and his dog. There is no entrance from this side, so I don't know how they get there. Mundy wants to find a way in - fields and open spaces always hold a special attraction for him. But there is a 'trespassers' sign on the fence, and I'm a bit of a bungbroek when it comes to breaking rules. (That's Afrikaans for scaredy-cat, by the way). It probably harks back to my rigid childhood.
