Holiday traffic

Strolling with the dog through the village (it still feels like a village, even though we're absorbed into a much larger city) at the start of the Easter holiday weekend. The Grand Union canal is busy with people off on their boats, anticipating good weather, time to unwind and probably a few drinks along the way.
I wonder what happened when the three boats reached the lock just a mile or so away. Is there such a thing as barge rage?
