All Aboard!

This blip is a total coincidence, I didn't plan on having a train blip after the railway track yesterday! This afternoon we took Alan's mum & dad to the Bluebell Railway - Barry loves steam trains, and hasn't been on one since about 1960, so it was something he really wanted to do. It was also good for Norma as she's recovering from a quadruple heart bypass, so we've been looking at outings that won't be too tiring for her.

We took a picnic with us, but when we got to the station at Sheffield Park, we only had 10 minutes until the next train, so Norma bought tickets and decided that we were going in First Class. It was great as we had a small carriage to ourselves which was very plush, and dated back to the 1800's.

We chugged along through the Sussex countryside for 22 miles, stopping at Horstead Keynes which is the station used in Downton Abbey, Kingscote and then East Grinstead which was the end of the line before turning round and heading back to Sheffield Park.

We all really enjoyed it, and it was a difficult choice of blip today, but I like this one that I took out of our carriage window. Unfortunately you can't see the engine, but you can see the steam. I've put the other images on Flickr if you want to have a look.

Tonight I've got a night out with the girls, and tomorrow I'm meeting up with Gillybxl one of my Belgian Blip buddies who's currently on holiday in Brighton. It'll be nice to see her again, as the last time was just before we left Belgium.
