Apologies for laughing. You are certainly not the first to ask that question of me, but I am not the jolly fat man known as Santa Claus; I hope that doesn't disappoint you terribly.

Isn't Santa Claus simply an invention to amuse children? Or perhaps to teach them the lesson that their parents don't always tell the truth ... or that lying is not always a sin.

That said, I could be doing him an injustice; he may indeed exist, but the fact remains that I have never met him. And as you will have gathered, I have known this place for a very long time.
