Splendid
This isn't a word I often use. I'm more of a 'fab! brill! bloody hell! amazing!' sort but today I made an exception because I was - very briefly - struck speechless and struggled for words.
I nipped out of work at lunchtime and cycled like the wind down to the ArtShop to collect the two images I'd left on a data stick on Saturday for enlarging rather big, to see what they looked like before I ordered 23 others for my exhibition at DandiFest! The only word I could utter when the power of speech returned was 'splendid'. Then after a brief pause for breath came 'Bloody hell. That's amazing'.
The plan now is that I take my memory stick in with the rest of the images for printing in on Thursday and collect them next Thursday.
Yes, I could have got them printed cheaper on-line but printing costs are being covered by part of the Arts Council England grant that we've received for DandiFest! and the Artshop (official name Artshop Project) is local and provides work training placements to young adults with disabilities across a wide range of disciplines. You can read more about it here.
I also thought that the sign to the Sportspark looked rather splendid in the evening sunlight too. As was the aerobics class I went to.
