After convincing the IT boffins that my laptop malfunction was not an "RTIM error" (Read the Instruction Manual), I took the machine in for them to play with repair.
Four and a half hours later it was finally repaired and I can now check all my drives from home in the middle of the night.
Here is a shot of the Huddersfield Broad Canal which is near to the computer centre. The canal was opened in 1776 and proved to be a lifeline for the rapidly developing textile industry.
The mechanism in the shot forms part of the lift bridge at Quay Street. Until recently it was windlass-operated but its now electric.
