Sunspots

The new cooker was expected any time between 7am and 7pm.
At 9.30am I received a phone call to say it would be there by 10am.
It was, but they couldn't get it into the kitchen with the packaging on and because I hadn't paid the extortionate £100 to have it fitted, they "weren't allowed" to remove the packaging.
So, it was left in the living room!

I decided to head into work.

Just as I stepped out of the front door, our next door neighbour was waiting to tell me he had bumped the back of my car. He has scuffed the paint off the rear drivers wheel arch (down to the metal) and scrawped my rear driver's side alloy. I was not happy and told him I would speak to him this evening.

Work was productive and my two final students were finished by 1pm so that's another weight off the mind.

Popped round to Fisherking's house to inspect his new kitchen and take advantage of a previously offered 'fancy coffee'. Very nice it was too :-) Thank you dear friend for sorting out my students this morning. I appreciate you stepping in for me.

Came home and decided to get the solar filter on the telescope - this is the result. I can't quite fit the full solar disc into my viewing area with my DSLR setup. If I had the inclination I would find a solution, but right now, it's not high priority.

Anyway, I am pleased with the outcome as I have captured the 6 sunspot groups that were visible today and with a reasonable degree of clarity.

The cooker is now in place. It has been switched on to burn all of the chemical coating from the inside, as per instructions. It needs a bloody good clean in the morning before I set about testing its capabilities with a massive cooking and baking marathon.

I have received some quotes for the 'minor' work that my neighbour has created on my car - apparently diamond cut alloys are expensive to sort, so he is looking at a reasonable amount to sort it. I will sort the best quotes and get it done - he doesn't want to go through the insurance…probably a bit difficult to explain!

All in all, not a bad day, despite the car annoyance and pain not being good. But if I give in to it, I am done for so I am fighting another day!
