Female on the nest!

Ten days ago she had laid 3 eggs and she was cruising round the pond with her partner. Today she was settled on a heap of feathers, an unknown quantity of eggs and the male was attacking any duck, goose, bird that came within 10 metres!!

This afternoon we tackled the “other side” of the wall to prepare the ground for some prickly bush planting. There is a big difference in the height and we don’t want to risk anyone falling over…..a big drop!!!

Tonight was furniture restoration class. I didn’t feel like going as the last time I attended was early February, prior to our holiday. But need must as I’ve got two boxes to finish. I actually enjoyed the session and look forward to the next one in 5 weeks ……

The great tit in our nesting box is now doing sleep overs, she tucks herself up about 7pm and has vacated by the time I get up in the morning!!
