Gotcha!!!

I captured a magpie in flight last October and have been trying to get another shot since.

There is a pair that frequent the apple trees around us, but they rarely land in the garden and any visit is normally fleeting. They visit one at a time and the routine is that it flies in, grabs what it wants and flies out. I've been watching their flight paths to see if I can anticipate action and today I was rewarded with this one landing on the back of the bench.

The sun is shining although it is very blustery. Many of the shots show his feathers all over the place, but this one illustrates the range of colours in what we know as a black and white bird!!!
