Looking up...

Lazy day...

After yesterday's foot-aching day touring Marrakech, we decided to have a pool day today. The gardens around the hotel are beautifully kept and lush. There are even ponds full of frogs - you have to be careful not to step on them on the way back to your room when it's dark.

Yesterday it took a couple of hours to get my blip to upload. The hotel's wifi is restricted to reception and the bar areas and there are quite a number of people there using it at any one time, so that could have been the reason. Or maybe it was a blip site problem.

Anyway, what I really wanted to say yesterday before I gave up was that we had a very interesting tour guide named Mohammed. He took us to all the major sights but also to some really poor areas so that we would see all sides of Marrakech. I wouldn't want it any other way. We even saw the inside of a mosque - no longer used - at the old university.

We saw some amazing and beautiful things and also some sights I would rather never see again - such as monkeys dressed up in frilly dresses being pulled around on leads. Mohammed also gave us some insights into his faith, which was extremely interesting.

It was an exhausting but worthwhile day.
